Thank you, Judges!!! (L-R: David Holmes, Toby Monk, Chris Cheesman, Emma Mapp, Michael Pritchard and Laura McCullagh; Paul of Cafe Art)
With 93 cameras returned from our earlier hand-out of 105 at St Paul's Cathedral
the other week, we know it would not be an easy task for our 6 judges to decide on the 20 photographs for the exhibition in October. Out of this, 13 of the photographs will be featured in our 2015 Cafe Art/RPS photography calendar.
We are extremely grateful again to Christie's
for allowing us the use of one of their Boardrooms at their main auction house at Kings Street in St James's for this year's judging. Located on the 5th floor and away from prying eyes, it was an ideal location for our judges to concentrate on this laborious, and yet exciting, task ahead. We are extremely grateful to the following individuals who came out of their working day (with no expenses paid!) to be part of the panel of Judges:
i. Chris Cheesman (News Editor, Amateur Photographer
ii. David Holmes (Photographer)
iii. Emma Mapp (Founder, The London Photo Festival
iv. Toby Monk (Recruitment Manager, Christie's)
v. Laura McCullagh (Innovations Project Officer, Homeless Link)
vi. Michael Pritchard (Director-General, The Royal Photographic Society)
So stay tuned for the results and follow us on the journey to the production of our 2015 Cafe Art/RPS calendar .........
[PS. We were informed by one of the photographers that BBC News team did come to St Paul's on our camera hand-out day, and were interviewing participants as they came out from the Crypt. So if you have a copy of that news clip, do let us know!]
Let the battle begin .....
Narrowing down the choices
Even more grim faces as there were so many difficult decisions to be made.
Getting closer - all will be revealed shortly!
