We have exciting news - for that first time you can vote online for the photos in our 2018 MyLondon calendar! You can have your say here. One hundred one-time-use Fujifilm cameras were handed out to people affected by homelessness at St Paul's Cathedral on 30 June, resulting in more than 2,000 photos. From 2,000 photos submitted from 89 cameras returned, 20 have been chosen for the public vote to decide the 2018 MyLondon calendar. We hope to get thousands of votes from the public in Spitalfields Arts Market from Monday 31 July to Sunday 6 August. London Photo Festival Cafe Art has partnered with London Photo Festival and this allows us to find out what you...

Visit a Cafe! Win a My London calendar!

Posted by on Jan 26, 2016 in Calendar | Comments Off on Visit a Cafe! Win a My London calendar!

Tuesday 26 January, 2016. If you missed out on the My London 2016 calendar we are doing a special promotion with the cafes that hang the Cafe Art paintings! We are very appreciative of the support the artists get from these cafes. Not only do they hang the art for no charge, but they take no commission on any paintings sold (neither does Cafe Art as 100% goes to the artists!). From the 6,000 My London calendars printed we have fewer than 400 left so we wanted to do a promotion for the cafes that help us.     The first five people to visit the following cafes and say "Cafe Art" will get a free My London calendar! Please check opening times...

My São Paulo!

We are excited to announce that the first international pilot of Cafe Art's photography contest and calendar is happening in São Paulo next week, to be called Minha São Paulo. Following the success of a visit by a delegation to London in April this year, Cafe Art was invited to join a UK delegation with the organisation With One Voice in November, and the contest was added later. The São Paulo city council (the prefeitura) asked if Cafe Art could do a pilot photography contest like the My London project and Paul Ryan will fly to São Paulo on Sunday 1 November a week before the rest of the UK delegation. We are very excited to not only be included...

Spitalfields Market – Come on Down!

Thanks to the big-heartedness of the Spitalfields Market Estate Management Team, in particularly to Ray, Cafe Art now has a stand where you can meet some of the photographers (including the winners), have a chat and a biscuit on us, find out how and where they took the winniing shots (as we have a 3D map of London too!) and check out the beautiful 2014 calendar in the flesh. And of course, you can buy one on the spot from the vendors. (They buy the calendar for £5 and sell it for £10). And with Xmas approaching, support them by purchasing two or more, as the calendars not only make a wonderful gift, but a meaningful one too. With every purchase, you know that you...

The Big Issue Foundation/The Big Noise 2013

What do you get when you mix The Big Issue Foundation/The Big Noise 2013 with Cafe Art? Well, the answer is an amazing array of fantastic artwork showcasing the talents of London's homeless people or those who have been homeless. Cafe Art and the artists are honoured to be chosen as one of the official suppliers of artworks to the event.
