Hello fellow art and coffee lovers!

Welcome to Cafe Art! We are a unique initiative showcasing artwork created by people affected by homelessness or are socially vulnerable. View the paintings on this website now. However we encourage you to experience it yourself first-hand, by exploring the many small, hard-working & independent London cafes. More than 20 cafes have given up wall space to exhibit these paintings. With a latte in one hand, sit back, relax and enjoy.

  1. Ihello cafe art, how fabulous, I have just read a BBC news article about this venture and wanted to find out the history behind it. What an amazing idea and opportunity you have provided. To inspire confidence to all the 150 who took place regardless of whether they were chosen for the final calendar.
I can’t find a list of the cafes that will be displaying the final work chosen, when I am up town next I would t mind popping into one of them to see them for myself.
Huge well done as it’s a mamouth effort behind the scenes but well worth it to every life you touch by doing so.
I work in a secondary school and have one student gcse who’s sketch book project was about essence of the city,he chose to portray the homelessness that is present and to tackle a subject that is uncomfortable to many at such a young age is great to see. When we return after summer I will ask the head of art to mention it to the students as they are continuing their essence of the city project. If your project is to inspire just a handful of the children it would be worth it.

Lastly thank you for sharing this, I will share to keep the word spreading.

    Regards

    Irene

    • Hi Irene,
Many thanks for taking the time to write and for your kind words of support – much appreciated. We are a very tiny organisation – hence apologies for the delay in replying as we’ve been busy with this year’s photo contest for the 2018 calendar 🙂 All praise at the end of the day goes to the participating artists and photographers, as well as big-hearted supporters like yourself!
Our list of partner cafes change constantly – just drop us a line when you’re in town. We also work with young adults in a number of schools based in North London, to raise awareness of homelessness and to inspre them to use their creativity to overcome obstacles in life. If we can help in any way, do drop us a line after the summer.
Many thanks once again for the support and spreading the word. We are extremely grateful! Have a safe and enjoyable summer break ahead …

      Best,
      Michael
