2019 ACE opens soon!

Dominic Hanley heads off from the Crisis Skylight in Brent with his painting which will be hanging in the Art Competition Exhibition at Hampstead School of Art.

The Cafe Art 2019 Art Competition Exhibition (ACE) at the Hampstead School of Art will showcase 20 artists affected by homelessness and is open to the public from Wednesday 6 March to Wednesday 20 March, 2019.

Anyone who would like to go to the opening event to meet the artists is welcome, but please register on Eventbrite so that we have an idea of the numbers.

Most of the artwork will be for sale, with 80% of the money going to the artists and 20% back into the project. Hampstead School of Art have donated the venue at no charge and will not take any commission - thank you HSOA!

Ninety eight artists submitted 160 pieces of work in the ACE this year - more than doubling last year's number. Cafe Art will be providing an opportunity for people to see a catalogue of all pieces submitted at the exhibition.

The judges were Isabel Langtry from the Hampstead School of Art, Jimmy Lek from the Art Gemini Prize, art therapist Simon Richardson and art dealer, curator, gallerist and writer Clive Jennings.
