The 2015 MY LONDON calendarwas officially launched at Spitalfields Arts Market on Monday. Cafe Art would like to express our sincere congratulations to all the winning photographers in our 2014 RPS photography contest, and to thank all their friends, families and supporters who braved the wet weather, and joined us for the Awards ceremony, the opening of the photo exhibition & Arts Market and of course, the launch of the Cafe Art MY LONDON 2015 calendar at  Spitalfields Market yesterday (Mon 13/10). Everyone participated in the exhibition this year as we created a special 'photo wall'. Everyone had the opportunity to exhibit up to five shots of their choice. Almost £2,000 in cash prizes was won by  photographers whose images were selected by the judges and the general public for both the exhibition and in the 2015 calendar. The money was directly from calendar sales last year. Sixty five percent of the money earned by the sale of the calendar goes back to the photographers, artists and art groups and calendar vendors. Tributes were paid to photographer Alex Davies, who had posthumously won this year's top Judges' Choice with her photo The Artist. Her parents, Tom and Sue, accepted the awards on her behalf. Read about this in an article by Amateur Photographer. Many thanks to all the presenters, as well as Pret for providing lunch and Spitalfields Estate Management Team who supported this event and made it even more special! If you can make it down to Spitalfields, we'd love to see you this week. The exhibition and Cafe Art Arts Market with be there every day until Sunday. You can buy a copy of the calendar online here.
