The cameras have returned, the top 25 has been selected by the jury, and the photographers have chosen the exhibition that will take place in Spitalfields Arts Market from Monday, August 5th to Wednesday, August 7th (the covered open-air market is open 10am to 5pm).
There will be more than 260 photos in the exhibition which focuses on London. They were taken earlier this month on single-use Fujifilm QuickSnap cameras by people who are homeless - from rough sleepers to people squatting or living in homeless hostels. Eighty of the 100 cameras came back after seven days.
The goal of the project is to connect people through creativity. Later participants will be able to sell calendars and cards to earn an income in Spitalfields Market, Elizabeth line stations and in corporate head offices.
Vote on the top 25 photos online this week! If you can't come to the exhibition in Spitalfields Market, you can still help us choose the 2025 MYLONDON calendar. See the top 25 photos here and let us know your top three photos. The photos are anonymous during the voting process which will also be held in Elizabeth line station on Thursday and Friday August 1st and 2nd 2024.
The jury met on July 19th in Homeless Link. Made up of a mixture of people representing former homeless photographers, The RPS, Homeless Link and the general public, they sorted through the 2,100 photos developed and narrowed it down to 25. These are the photos the public will vote on to help us decide the 2025 MYLONDON calendar.
The project participants chose the exhibition photos in the Wren Suite of St Paul's Cathedral on Friday July 26th. Everyone chose three photos each, creating a very impressive exhibition. Every year it's different and this year the week of the contest was very rainy, which has resulted in many beautiful shots of London in the rain, with stormy skies and colours popping from the grey.
