“I was walking through the market. I looked up and saw that and I thought “It’s perfect” says Barry Callaghan, adding that he headed to Camden Market as soon as he picked up the contest camera. Barry says he had no experience in photography until he started taking photos on his phone on the daily walk during lockdown. He says one of the support workers in his hostel saw the photos and suggested that he take part in the contest. Barry lives in an SHP hostel after being evicted from his flat through a no fault eviction just before Christmas 2023. 2025 MYLONDON calendar (January image)
